Monica Mingote was born in Argentina in 1964. Mingote is a physical therapist and uses art as an imaginative escape. Her father, a self-taught artist, urged her to make her first brushstroke. Her personal style of painting is a cross between the painterly style (looser brushstrokes) and realism. She uses a variety of mediums like acrylic, oil, watercolor, and sometimes ventures off to pointillism. She draws inspiration from Florida’s surrounding wildlife and vibrant colors.
